Plan of Salvation
Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God, the Almighty. ~Revelation 4:8
“You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
~1 Peter 1:16
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ~Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 6:23
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin of our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
~2 Corinthians 5:21
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name. ~John 1:12
“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our adobe with him.” ~John 14:23
God—God is holy and perfect.
He requires that we be perfect in order to enter heaven.
1 Peter 1:16
Sin—We sin when we break any of God’s commands. God will not allow any sin into heaven. The punishment for our sin is physical death and eternal punishment.
Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Isaiah 59:2
Christ’s blood—God loves us and left heaven to come to us in the person of Jesus. He lived a perfect life then died on a cross to pay the penalty for our sin. He rose from the dead to prove that these things are true.
Faith—We must confess that we have sinned against God. We must believe that Jesus lived a perfect life then died in our place. He offers to pay the penalty for our sins and transfer His perfection to us. We become perfect and acceptable to God through trusting in what Jesus did for us.
John 1:12, Corinthians 5:21
Grow—If you truly believe in Jesus then you will want to know Him better and grow closer to Him. You will want to turn from your sins in order to follow and obey Him. Do you have that desire?
