Our Sunday School program offers something different for everyone. All Sunday School classes begin at 10:00am on Sunday mornings, and classrooms are located in all three buildings. These small group sessions foster closer relationships with other followers of Christ, and help to strengthen faith through a variety of lessons.
WOMEN ON MISSIONS
Our WMU & WOM groups encompass all ages. Our purpose is the same as when we began in 1888. The story that Jesus commanded his followers to embrace in Mathew 28:19 is still relevant today for the people of our communities. The WBC women work along with our Baptist Men, and we have a food and clothing give-away quarterly, as well as the B.B. Roberts Annual Turkey Dinner.
In addition, we work closely with local schools to meet any needs: shoes, food, clothing, etc. In recent years, we have had many of our members join with the Liberty Baptist Association mission team in going to the Christian Activity Center in one of the nation's most decimated and world's most dangerous cities, East St. Louis, Illinois. Prayer is a vital part of any group, and we pray for our missionaries, home and foreign. Our prayer is that we can be the hands and feet of Jesus right here in Wallburg.
Kingdom Kids meet during all service hours and is meant for children age four through fifth grade. In Kingdom Kids, we use Gospel centered and Christ-focused lessons to engage our children and teach them the good news about Jesus Christ. We use fun and engaging activities to impact our children. Learning takes place through stories, songs, crafts and more. We strive to build a fun and exciting learning environment where all children are welcomed. There is also monthly special activities that allow Kingdom Kids children the opportunity to build relationships and practice what they have learned.
At WBC, the GodSquad strives to equip ourselves with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in order to achieve God's will in our lives. We understand the significance of being a living sacrifice to glorify our Lord and Savior. Our goal is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of those in our church family, neighbors in the community, and beyond through Christian fellowship and love. GodSquad is for youth in grades six through twelve.
The Senior Citizens Friendly Club of Wallburg Baptist Church meets quarterly for a meal. Throughout the year we enjoy day trips to interesting places. Some recent destinations included: Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Billy Graham Library, Concord Mills, Shatley Springs, Southern Supreme Fruitcake Factory, and the Fabric & Pottery Outlet in Virginia.
We prepare treat bags or care packages for our sick and shut-ins several times throughout the year. In November, care packages are made for Hospice of Davidson County. The ultimate goal of the Senior Citizens Friendly Club is to provide a time for the senior adults in our church to enjoy a time of fun and Christian fellowship together. We welcome anyone that considers themselves a senior adult who would like to participate in our meetings and activities.
